PhD in Sciences (Statistics), Université Catholique de Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. Coordinator of the PhD program in Statistics of the Department of Statistics, University of Bologna, until 2013. President of the Italian Statistical Society in 2004-2008, TIES President (The International Environmetrics Society, Section of ISI, International Statistical Institute) in 2008-2011. Member of CNGR (National Committee of Research Trustees) by the Italian Ministry for Education, University and Research in 2012-2014. Member of Comstat (steering and coordination committee for statistical information, Istat) for 2015-2019. Member of the IASS (International Association of Survey Statisticians) Council: 2013-2017. Her research activity is about methods for finite population sampling and statistical models for environmental problems. In finite populations her results concern Bayesian solutions for hierarchical superpopulation models and small area inference. With reference to environmental problems, her scientific production is about the development of hierarchical models and methods for air quality indicators. She is currently developing research both with Italian and foreign scholars. She is active also in promoting contacts with institutions interested in statistical analysis.
